Walmart and CVS will stop processing restricted drug prescriptions

Walmart Inc. and CVS Health Corp. announced Wednesday they won't accept restricted drug prescriptions from Cerebral Inc. and Done Health.

Walmart said Reuters the move was taken following an audit and compliance procedure.

CVS stated it will not accept restricted drug prescriptions from the startups starting May 26 following a review and being "unable to address issues with Cerebral and Done Health."

Cerebral stopped prescribing prohibited medications and tapered current prescriptions last month because to expiring exemptions.

Cerebral said it was working with pharmacists to give current patients with restricted drug prescriptions time to acclimate to the changes.

The corporation expects to continue prescribing restricted drugs for opioid addiction.
