MPD on high alert after recovering 7 firearms with 'glock switches'

Mobile police warn of 'glock switches' It transforms a semi-automatic handgun into a fully automatic one.

MPD said everyone should be concerned. In the previous six months, the MPD has found seven handguns with "glock switches."

"The switch connects to the rear of the slide and prevents the slide from resetting when the trigger is pushed," MPD Sgt. John Young said.

Young said there's no stopping this gadget now that it's in Mobile.

Trenteon King was accused Wednesday for allegedly having a 'glock chip' on the rifle he used in a March killing.

Young said the main problem is that these gadgets are marketed online without regulation.
