Children's gaming and intelligence may be linked

A new study suggests that gaming may boost children's IQ.

This research discovered better evidence for the influence of gaming on intellect and indicated causal linkages between gaming and intelligence.

The study was conducted by a team of European academics from institutions in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany.

The study's goal was to examine the influence of playing video games vs viewing films and TV on children's IQ.

The researchers controlled for genetic and socioeconomic factors and employed a longitudinal sample of 9,855 9- to 10-year-olds

In fact, children who played more video games at 9-10 years old exhibited the largest increases in IQ two years later.
